ALAN JAY BINGER'S TESTIMONY

Alan Binger is a 58 year old Jewish attorney, who grew up in White Plains, New York, a suburb of New York City. He was bar mitzvahed at age 13 at Temple Israel, a conservative synagogue located in White Plains. In 1971, at the age of 19, while he was a student at Penn State University, he came to know Jesus through the witness of two Jewish believers who shared with him how Jesus was the promised Jewish Messiah foretold by the Old Testament scriptures and who challenged him to check out the prophecies foretelling the Messiah. After reading the various prophecies that foretold the coming of the Messiah-especially Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22- he was convinced that Jesus was the promised Jewish Messiah and received Him as his Lord and Savior.

Following his graduation from Penn State, he attended Brooklyn Law School. During his first year at law school, he met Abbye through Charles Eisenberg while attending his Bible study at Beth Sar Shalom Hebrew Christian Fellowship (now known as Chosen People Ministries) in Manhattan. While in law school, he began a prison ministry which continues to this day and has involved inmates in several different states including, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico. He frequently goes on trips to visit the men. One of the men that he ministers to is David Berkowitz (also Jewish), formerly the Son of Sam, who himself came to believe in Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Alan currently lives in Rockland County and attends Beth Am Messiah, a Messianic Jewish congregation in New City, New York. He has been married to Abbye for 35 years and they have four children, Joshua (31), Nathaniel (27), Rebekah (22) and Zachary (14). He has an active Law practice in the personal injury field, while at the same time devoting several days each month to his prison ministry. He also is the Executive Director of ha-Or Ministries, a ministry dedicated to reaching Jewish people for the Messiah. He is an active member of Beth Am Messiah (House of Messiah’s people), a Messianic Jewish Congregation in New City, New York, located in Rockland County, about 30 miles north of New York City.
